Modi did not play communal

I do not agree with the editorial Misplaced perceptions (December 24) that states there is no evidence to believe that Muslims have swung for Narendra Modi in the Gujarat assembly elections. This is because Modi did not fight the elections on a communal plank and concentrated on development. The congress kept harping on the 2012 Gujarat riots and had no other issues to put the Modi government on the mat and this kept voters away.
