With reference to the editorial Ignorance is not always bliss (Our Take, February 11), it's surprising that the Prime Minister's office is misleading the nation by stating that certain documents regarding the Emergency cannot be traced. The Emergency was not only one of the darkest chapters in the history of India but also a slap in the face of democracy. The fact that the Congress led UPA government is not willing to make the documents public implies that it is trying to hide its past wrongs. Every Indian has the right to know what transpired between the then Prime Minister and the President of India during the dark period.
