The government should ask both the Shiv Sena and RSS to put an end to their meaningless debate on who is eligible to reside in Mumbai (Song sangh true, The pundit, February 2). While the Sena is wrong in restricting non-Marathis from dwelling in Mumbai, the RSS is unnecessarily politicising the issue. If Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray urges non-Marathis to leave Mumbai, then he should also ask Marathis residing in other states to return to Maharashtra. It is surprising that the Centre has maintained a silence on the issue. The need of the hour is to urge both the Shiv Sena and MNS to stop dividing our society.
