IPL becomes scapegoat

Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar gave voice to the collective disappointment of Indian PEO on the shifting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to South Africa (Sachin rues losing home fans, March 24). Many players, including the English all-rounder Andrew Flimtoff, have expressed their disappointment at the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) decision.
It was the responsibility of the government to provide security to the IPL organizers and it could have employed private security agencies. What is clearly discernible is that IPL became a scapegoat during negotiations between the government and the BCCI.
