Is it right to have converted the Olympic Torch Relay into a celebrity event?

It is matter of shame that the Indian Olympic Association forgot a sportsperson like P.T.Usha. At the last minute, on a reminder by media, an invitation was sent to her as a mere formality. When sports authorities can forget to invite (such) sportspersons for the relay, how do we expect them to do the best for the game and the country? It was a moment to honour the sports personalities who had won laurels in international sports competitions. Our celebrities are not going to participate in the Athens Olympics. Which is why, it would have been appropriate to invite only sports people for the Olympics torch relay.
